Positive Behavior Support (PBS)

PBS Ballon
At BTW, we focus on providing a supportive and safe learning environment for our children. The foundation of this environment includes explicitly teaching and modeling positive behaviors throughout the building. Our school-wide behavior expectations include demonstrating

I Care
I Listen
I Respect
I am Responsible

We spend time throughout the school year demonstrating what each of these expectations looks and sounds like not only in the classroom, but also in the hallways, playground, cafeteria, bathroom, at dismissal, and on the bus.

At BTW, we recognize positive behaviors in many different ways. Each marking period, children at each grade level earn “Booker Bucks”, which they can use to participate in quarterly celebration activities and to spend on special prizes at our School Store.  Each class also works toward earning a “Golden Award” from each of our Related Arts classes for Art, Music, Gym, and Library.  Additionally, our School Counselor, Mrs. Y rewards one student at each grade with the Golden Heart Award each quarter.  The Golden Heart is given to individual students who not only demonstrate the school-wide expectations, but also demonstrate kindness toward others, caring, and overall great citizenship.
